What KRA will charge you to import a car

KRA does not care what you paid for the car. Duty is calculated from the CRSP — their own estimate of what that model would cost new in a Kenyan showroom — minus depreciation for age.

These figures follow KRA’s July 2025 schedule and their own valuation template, including the two things most calculators miss: a vehicle already registered in Kenya depreciates faster and pays neither the Railway Development Levy nor the Import Declaration Fee.
